As a traveler, I have my own list about where I dream of going. Some look really far and too expensive for me at the moment. But dreams are something that keep us going. And am not afraid to dream real big.
So, let start my travel bucket list:
1. Patagonia

It must be this place. Even before I started my first backpacking trip a few years back, I have dreamt of this mountain.
I’m not a mountain person to be honest, not at all. Both my only trip to mountains were Mt. Gde and Mt. Semeru, which I considered a near death experience. Well, I might exaggerate that a bit.
But Patagonia, shared by Chile and Argentina, has become my ultimate travel goal. I make it personal. One day, I’ll be riding horses around this mountain. And after that, maybe I’ll never travel again.
2. Machu Pichu

Machu Pichu is a close second for my ultimate travel experience. Imagine trekking for 3 days to see the sun rises from the back of Machu Pichu. The place is located in another South American country, Peru. The reason why I want to get here? Machu Pichu can speaks for itself.
3. The Amazon

Another Suramericano? If I can blame something/one for making me want to ride along the amazon river, cross the jungle, and disconnected for some time from humanity and technology, it must be the National Geographic channels. And, to some extent, Gio, one character of Dewi Lestari’s Supernova.
4. Liverpool

This my pilgrimage as a Liverpool fan. As a kid, all you want is go watching your favorite club play in one of the most respectable stadium in the world. Singing “You’ll Never Walk Alone” and watch the players trashing every opponents.
And of course The Beatles. So, it kinda a double pilgrimage for me.
5. Europe on Shoestring

Sicily

Well, yeah, who doesnt want to travel to Europe? Particularly Spain. I even learned the language, well, eventhough that mostly because the South American use it too, haha. I wanna go to Basque. Maybe visiting Stefano in Milan, and then travel around to Sicily and Perugia.
And not to forget. Another football pilgrimage for me is visiting every stadium where Liverpool won the European Cup. They are Paris, Rome, London, Istanbul, and Dortmund (this one is UEFA Cup 2001).
6. Eastern Europe

Poland

I read The Historian and then become enchanted by the story of Vlad Tepez and Dracula. The myth was told to live around here. Bulgaria, Hungary, Croatia. It must be fun to discover Europe beside those famous European cities like Paris, Vienna, Milan, or London.
But to be honest. I think it will give me the chill to really come here.
7. Great Barrier Reef

I love to dive and see the underwater world. I couldn’t tell how amazing it was to see a jungle of reefs and coral in Raja Ampat. We were so small, yet, this egocentric species can destroy a million years of lives down there.
8. Myanmar

Inle Lake

I might be late about this one. With the new political era has just begun, it may affect the culture and the people. Just like Indonesia after the 1998. We are never the same.
Every travelers that I met in my travel always encouraged me to go there, and as soon as possible. Yes, the road are sucks. Yes, food are tasteless. But I want to be there, talking to the oppressed people who eager to know whats the world out there. They don’t have any good internet connection. I bet they don’t have any smartphone there. And hell yes I wanna be there.
9. The Middle East

I have this weird dream about going to the middle east. Not just Mecca and Medina who would be the real pilgrimage for me as a moslem, but also to countries like Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Kirgystan, Iran, or Iraq.
I hope the political turmoil around the Middle East will resolve soon. Safety is never granted there nowadays.
10. Others??
I have no idea. Haha. I fancy Morocco too. Or maybe America. New Zealand? Ah, I want a lot of things, really. So, i guess i’ll have to work (and pray) real hard.
